5010 & ICD-10

The proposed rule to implement 5010 & ICD-10 was published August 22, 2008.  The industry had until October 22, 2008 to provide comments regarding the proposed final rule.  Publication of the Final Rule could be as early as November 2008 or as late as January 2009.  If the proposed rule stands then implementation of 5010 will be April 2010 and for ICD-10 implementation by October 2011.
